! Then I'll have to record the bass, mix the tracks, and master the whole
thing... Piece of cake !
Wanna
hear what the new Plug-In sounds like ? Rush to our myspace page : www.myspace.com/pluginband.
There's a full track from the new album. This is only a demo (now real
mixing, half programmed drum machine, half played bass track, you get
the idea...). Feel free to let us know if you like it !

November
2003 : We have made our choice... Click here
to find out who won the world famous Plug-in contest !
06 November
2003 :
Please be patient :) It's very hard for us to
decide who's gonna be the winner. There are so many good solos...
We
have pretty much found the top 5. We now need to choose one of the 5 names...
To help you to wait, here are a few stats.
We got people from all over the world :
- 29 from France
- 21 from the USA
- 6 from Canada
- 4 from the UK
- 3 from Finland
- 2 from Turkey
- 2 from Australia
- 1 from Belgium
- 1 from Brasil
- 1 from Germany
- 1 from Greece
- 1 from New Zealand
- 1 from Sweden
- 1 from the Netherlands
Some people sent up to 3 solos
(do you really think that's gonna help us ??? ;-)
The first solo we got arrived the day after we launched the contest.
The last one arrived... 2 days after the deadline... :)
01 November 2003 :
CONTEST is OVER ! We received 79
submissions. You guys are great !! We now have to pick a winner, which
is going to be very hard... Leave us a few days for that :P
29
October 2003 :
Forgot to mention that our very good friends from Sun
Caged released their new album last week ! Check it out !! (Quick reminder
: Sun Caged is Dennis
Leeflang's band. Dennis is the drummer that toured with Bumblefoot
and us last year :)
We
have received Sylvain Coudret's (Scarve)
solo. It's a blast (what else could we expect anyway...). By the way, get
ready for Scarve's new mindblasting album, to be released January 26th 2004
(argh can't wait...)
You
have 3 days left to send your entries for the contest
!
We have received a bit more than 50 solos as
of now, from all over the world (France, UK, US, Canada, Sweden, Finland...)
Some incredible shit, we're gonna have a hard time choosing a single winner...
09
October 2003 :
Quick update for some fresh news ! We now have a Guestbook !! (click on the
icon above).
-
Jean decided to leave the band. He's got
too much work and personal musical projects to keep on playing with us.

and support him !! Good luck Jean !
- Drumroll.... So please welcome our new 2nd guitarist : Mr Denis
Cornardeau who succesfully passed his first Plug-in rehearsal yesterday
evening...

Deadline for the contest fixed : you've got 22 more days to send your solos...
Deadline is the 31st of October !

30
September 2003 :
Shawn Lane died last week. Fanalo used to be one of his students back in the
days he was at the CMCN (now MAI). Good
bye Shawn,
rest
in peace...
19
September 2003 :
The
contest (scroll down if you've missed the announcement...) has been officialy
announced in the latest issue
of Guitar & Bass (Thanks to Christophe Andreck). We have already received
a bunch of very cool solos... Keep'em
coming, this is very exciting for us to
discover what our music can inspire to other people...
New guest confirmed :
Sylvain
Coudret from the band Scarve
(one of elmobo's favorite band) will be playing a solo on a yet untitled track.
If you've heard Scarve before, you know it's gonna kick some ass :)
04
September 2003 : Incredible... 2 updates in
less than a month. So what do we have now ? Here we go for some cool news
and a cool contest (see a few lines below...)
Fanalo
appears on Thomas Bressel
new project, along with Chris Godin, Laurent Fleury, Youri de Groote and quite
a few other great guitarists. He's guesting on a couple of tracks (Capitaine
Flam and Goldorak. Yes, this is a cartoon themes cover album... ;).
How
about some
powerful Metal
? Elmobo just mixed two EPs in the past few
weeks. First one is from the Indus-Metal band JeNX,
and the other one from the Power-Nu-Metal band Sunken.
Pay those bands websites a visit, they rock !! Elmobo
will also mix and produce JeNX LP in 2004. This is going to be a fuckin'
great album, believe me !!!
We
think it's time to publish a sort of official Guest Lists, just for you to
know who the fuck is gonna play on our CD. So here we go.
-Ron
Thal (Bumblefoot)
-Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen)
-Christophe Godin (Gno)
-Patrick Rondat
-Andy Timmons
-Cyril Achard
-YOU
... Yes, we have little contest !
contest
!contest
!contest
!
Wanna
play on our CD along with Ron Thal, Mattias IA Eklundh, Christophe Godin,
Andy Timmons, Patrick Rondat, Cyril Achard... ?
We have a little contest for you... Download
our mp3, record a solo on it (just a after the fade in) for 16 bars, and
send a mp3 mix to me. Use as many tracks
as you need...
Keep
your solo as an isolated .wav file somewhere on you hard disk, because we
are going to choose the solo we like most to actually put it on our CD, so
we'll need this .wav file...
No
deadline yet, you'll know when there will be one...

!concours
Timmons, Christophe Godin, Patrick Rondat, Cyril Achard. Comment faire ? Télécharge
le mp3 ici (bouton droit, enregistrer la cible
sous...)
Enregistre
aura besoin si on te choisit. Tu peux utiliser autant de pistes que tu veux,
lache-toi !
Pas
de date limite pour l'instant, mais des que y en aura une, ça se saura...
13
August 2003 : What ???? 8 months without an
update ??? Hell yeah... We've been busy. But we're back with some good news...
Be ready for the longest update ever... :P
First we got Mr Andy Timmons' solo for
"Texas Instruments" a few months ago. Needless to say it rocks and
fits the tune perfectly... A true gem...
Stupid
me totally forgot to mention
we've
been
interviewed
by
the
very good folks at Noiseweb,
one of the best metal website I've seen. They also did a very nice (p)review
of the 3 first titles we made for the forthcoming album. Noiseweb
is all in french but it's worth a visit anyway...
Fanalo
just did another jam on GuitarHeroes.com.
go directly to the mp3 page... Jean did another
one as well...
We
had a ball playing with Freak Kitchen in Bordeaux
the 28th of February. Mattias, Bjorn and Christer kicked ass, as always. This
was a very exciting evening indeed, as Mr Michael Manring
who happened to be there that night, came to jam with us on "Ultimate
Groove". He and elmobo did
an extremely stupid bass duel ;-).
Later,
Fanalo got on stage to play
with Freak Kitchen on "See
you in Pittsburg" and "When Sam played it again". Another good
surprise for the fans, Mr Mike Keneally (Steve
Vai, Frank Zappa, Beer for Dolphins...) who happened to be there that night,
got on stage to play a few tracks with the swedish trio as well... Incredible
evening... By the way there has been a very nice report in Rock
Hard Magazine (Thanks to Stephane Auzilleau !!!) about this show...

And
the day after, guess who we were opening for ? Mike
Keneally, Michael Manring and Evan Schiller. I had the chance to
play this gig on the best bass I've ever touched : a Basslab
STD IV (see photo). (Thanks Alex,
now I'm addicted... :-P ). Later on, Fanalo
and Jean jammed with the trio on "My
Guitar wants to kill your Mama".
The
4th of April, we flew to Amsterdam for the Headway Festival.
Well not exactly all of us... I had some sort of problem with my passport
which was somehow not valid anymore... So I couldn't get on the plane... Panic
took me, cos' we had to be in Amsterdam the day after to play with Ron
Thal. So Fanalo took
the plane, and I (elmobo) had to take my car
to drive from Bordeaux (France) to Amsterdam. By chance,
my beloved Sab came with
me, so the 15 hours drive seemed a bit less painful :P We arrived in Amstelveen
at 3:30 am...
Missed
Freak Kitchen who were playing that night for
the first time in Holland. And we played with Mr Ron
"Bumblefoot" Thal around 6:00 pm. I could
barely stand up, my legs and my back were killing me, and I my eyes were moving
and closing as if they had a life of their own... Had to concentrate a lot
to be able to play those bumbletunes... Mattias
from Freak Kitchen came to jam with us on a couple
of tunes. Being on stage with Mattias AND Ron at the same time... That's something
I won't forget :) This Festival was really nice. We met a lot of cool bands.
(Suncaged, Prototype
(you guys rule !!), Loch Vostok...) And the audience
was just perfect ! Holland we love you and hope to be back soon !!
Ok
it's late now... I'm off to bed... More news in a few days...
22

our next CD... Many thanks to Christophe Andreck
for this cool article !!

April 2002 : We're still working on that album.
We're waiting for another guest's solo : Mr Andy
Timmons will be playing a solo on our track called "Texas
Instruments"... Can't wait to listen to that. Might post a few extracts
from our new tracks soon to let you guys know where we're heading...
Many people are asking about the french tour with Bumblefoot... It should
take place in mid-september. Nothing official yet thought...
14
April 2002 : Bloody hell... 4 months without
an update... Gno
came to play in our city. We had a great time with these crazy fucks.
Pictures from the show and more coming soon, featuring fanalo jamming
with Gno :-) !
14 December 2001 : Just back from an incredible
show... We saw Mr Michael Manring in a solo bass performance tonight.
It was amazing... Photos from the gig in the gallery
(scroll down the page)!! I've got more and more people wanting to buy
our first CD directly from us instead of ordering it on CD Baby. Well,
that's possible for french people only at the time being by sending me
an email. Hurry up, we're nearly
out of stock...
01
December 2001 : That's now kind of official. This
has been one of Plug In's history best kept secret... Mr Ron FumbleBoot
Thal told in the latest issue of Guitarist Magazine (French edition),
that Plug-In would be his band when touring in France...

To
make this day even more memorable, we received IA and Chris Godin's solos
nearly at the same time (yesterday for IA, today for Chris (thanks for
the nice drawing ;-)...) ! "Danthägl" is gonna kick some
ass !

27 November 2001 : New photos with our friends Cyril
Achard, Ivan Rougny and Mike Terrana in the Gallery
!!
20
November 2001 : Woohoo... Today we received a preview
of IA's solo for "Danthägl".
Needless to say it rocks !!
13 November 2001 : Received "911" this
morning, the new album by Bumblefoot,
the artist formerly known as Ron Thal... It's a must buy, not only because
Ron is donating all the money he'll get from this CD to American Red Cross,
but also because it's a f£$*µ% good album !! Go and buy it
here or
here
!! Featuring guest solos from Mattias IA Eklundh and Dweezil Zappa...
07
November 2001 : Shame on me... The photos of Freak
Kitchen live in Bordeaux are finally online here
! And there's a nice report on Freak Kitchen's official Website which
you can read here
!
03 November 2001 : Christophe Godin (Gno) is currently
working on his solo for "Danthägl". This is gonna rock.
Can't wait to hear that !! Yup, Fanalo's solo on "Danthägl"
will be stuck between mister Godin's and Mr Eklundh's :-)
14 october 2001 : We just spent the day with Patrick
Rondat... He played a few solos for one of our track. We have plenty of
material to toy with now :-) Looking forward to meeting you again Mr Patrick
!
Patrick Rondat recording his
solo at Elmobo Studio.
28
September 2001 : What a great day ! Today, we met
Mr Mattias Eklundh and his team mates Bjorn and Christer, just before
their gig in Bordeaux. Lovely guys really ! Check the photos in the Gallery
!! And what a great show!!!
27
September 2001 : Just finished pre-mastering "Danthägl",
the first track from our next CD... The least we can say is that it sounds
great :-) Can't wait for tomorrow, as we're gonna meet up with Mattias
Eklundh and submit him this tune as his guest appearence track ! |
